A Message from the Emmaus Restart Group Meeting
Dear Friends,
We are so excited to restart our Emmaus community! We have held four meetings thus far to discuss restarting our Garden State Walk to Emmaus community. Our next meeting will be a Work Day at South Seaville on October 21, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. to go through our storage area for the purpose of cleaning out our storage area, and to inventory what we have and need, and to dispose of expired food items. Workers who can handle the crates are needed. Let us know if you will can be there.
To date, a Face to Face Encounter is planned for next April. Holly Staatse will be the Lay Director. If you are interested in serving, please contact her. (holly.staatse@gmail.com).
We initially discussed having Walks next April but have decided to schedule them for the Fall.
Chrysalis has changed dramatically and we will have to purchase new binder contents (assuming the binders themselves are in good shape).
We will have a Gathering on November 18 at 5:00 P.M., location to be announced. Plan to bring a covered dish to share. It will be so wonderful to see everyone.
We will incur a number of expenses to restart such as obtaining insurance which lapsed during the shutdown, renewing our CCLI license, paying for Constant Contact and for our website provider. During the last three years, we have not had any income.
More than anything, we need your prayers! Pray that new leaders will be raised up as we form a new Board; pray that pilgrims will participate in a Walk, a Flight, or an Encounter so that they will be blessed as we have been blessed.
