Garden State Emmaus

Greetings from the “Emmaus Restart and Gathering” Group!” We have met three times.   To summarize:
Our Covenant with the Upper Room became inactive thanks to the pandemic.   We have received word that we have been approved for a new Covenant letter.
To become reinstated with Upper Room, we are required to form a Steering Committee of at least 14 members for a term of one year to create a new Board and hold at least five meetings. We elected the following and more positions need to be filled.
Danny Smith, Lay Director
Charlie Ryan, Assistant Lay Director
Wendy Peters, Registrar
Carol Tait, Communications
Many details need to be taken care of such as insurance, CCLI license, etc.
We hope to have a Face to Face Encounter next April 30, May 2, 4 and 7, pending locating a host church and assembling a team and pilgrims.  A meeting was held on 9/13 to begin planning.  Contact Carol Doron if you are interested in serving (856-854-6875 or bcdoron@aol.com).
We hope to have Emmaus Walks next April, with training April 5, 6, 7; Men’s Walk April 18-21 and Women’s Walk April 25-28.
Chrysalis has made a number of changes. It will be for ages high school youth, ages 13-18. Flights will now begin on Friday instead of Thursday evening.
We hope to see you on Saturday, September 16 at 10 A.M. at Pinelands-Nesco UMC!
